Professor Eunyoung Choi is a researcher in the Department of Agricultural Science at Korea National Open University, focusing on the development of advanced agricultural technologies such as protected horticulture, plant factories, and hydroponic cultivation systems. She actively conducts research in various fields including environmental control technology for sustainable agricultural production, plant growth optimization using LED and UVA light sources, and aquaponics system research.
In particular, she has contributed to the development of agricultural technologies that respond to climate change through research analyzing the effects of light source control on crop growth and quality in plant factory systems, and through the verification of crop varieties adapted to desert climates. She has also produced practical and applicable research outcomes, such as proposing efficient cultivation techniques through comparing crop growth and yield according to nutrient solution supply methods.
Professor Choi teaches horticulture and protected horticulture environment control engineering to students, delivering the latest agricultural technologies and research methodologies. Through research that combines academic depth with practicality, she contributes to sustainable agricultural development and strives to present new paradigms for future agriculture through collaboration with domestic and international researchers.
